With only 2 LPs released during their brief 2 years of action, the name of this short-lived hard rock band seemed like it was destined to be quickly forgotten like many bands during the 70s - if not because of one song. "Black Betty" was originally a Lead Belly's minute-long song with a new arrangement by an ex-Lemon Piper, Bill Bartlett, while he was with the Cincinnati band called Starstruck. Later, the song was brought to New York City by the bubblegum producers Jerry Kasenetz and Jeff Katz, who formed the band Ram Jam with Bartlett and released a less riveting version of the song. Although its content created a commotion in NAACP and Congress of Racial Equality, it did not stop this rock, pounding song to no.18 on Billboard chart in 1977. Sadly, none of their other songs could become a hit and the band split the following year.

A new category has been added. Although it was not long, the concept is still pretty interesting. It shows a small number of non-professional musicians, who managed to left their name in music history.
I will add more songs into several categories next time.
