jet call it a guit

Jet call it a quit

by SALLY BAILEY

Just in from EMI, a press release from Jet to their fans announcing that it is all over for the band.

The personal message to fans reads;

"After many successful years of writing, recording and touring we wish to announce our discontinuation as a group. From the many pubs, theatres, stadiums and festivals all across the world it was the fans that made our amazing story possible and we wish to thank them all. Thank you, and goodnight."

And that is all she wrote. Don't expect any juicy goss as they will not be giving interviews on the subject.

The announcement was made yesterday on their Facebook page. Lets remember the goodtimes.

queens gig may be cancelled

Is Queens Sonisphere GIG cancelled? They think so...
by SAILEY BAILEY

There have been rumours floating around on various forums over the past couple days that the U.K Sonisphere Knebworth 2012 festival has been cancelled due to poor ticket sales.

Although there has been no formal announcement by the Sonisphere promoters, Queen who were due to perform with American Idol Adam Lambert have posted the following message on their website.

“It is with very heavy hearts and much regret that we announce the cancellation of Sonisphere Knebworth 2012.

Putting the festival together in what is proving to be a very challenging year was more difficult than we anticipated, and we have spent the last few months fighting hard to keep Sonisphere in the calendar.

Unfortunately circumstances have dictated that we would be unable to run the festival to a standard that both the artists and that Sonisphere’s audience would rightly expect.

We want to express our deepest regrets to the artists and to thank all the staff, suppliers and contractors who worked so hard with us to try and pull off what has proven to be an impossible task and we know how much they share in our disappointment.  We also want to send a huge thanks to the Sonisphere fans who stuck by us and we are so sorry that we can’t fulfil what we set out to do.

Ticket holders will automatically receive a full refund direct from their ticket agents"

Whaaaat? Stay tuned for a formal announcement from Sonisphere...here's hoping the entire event won't be cancelled.

tom jones to release new music
Tom Jones To Release New Music

Tom Jones has a new batch of songs ready for release.

Jones has announced the follow up to 2010′s acclaimed collection of songs that was ‘Praise and Blame’ with the release of ‘Spirit In The Room’ on 21st May 2012 through Island Records.

‘Praise and Blame’ saw Tom mark a return to his roots and emerge with a powerful body of work drawn from the American spiritual repertoire. Now moving forward with ‘Spirit In The Room’, Tom draws on an evocative range of compositions executed with an unprocessed passion that make them his own.

An interpretation of Tom Wait’s ‘Bad As Me’, a wonderful rendition of Odetta’s ‘Hit Or Miss’, the front porch blues of Vera Hall Ward’s ‘Travelling Shoes’ and a stunning reading of the other-worldly ‘Charlie Darwin’ by Low Anthem all chart his progression.

Ever busy Tom has also graced a recent single on Jack White’s Third Man label .

‘Spirit In The Room’ is:

1. Tower Of Song (L. Cohen) 6. Bad As Me (T.Waits)
2. (I Want To) Come Home (P.McCartney) 7. Dimming Of The Day(R & LThompson)
3. Hit Or Miss (Odetta) 8. Travelling Shoes (V. Hall Ward)
4. Love And Blessings (P. Simon) 9. All Blues Hail Mary (J. Henry)
5. Soul Of A Man (Blind Willie Johnson) 10. Charlie Darwin (Low Anthem)

There will be a Deluxe Edition album which will contain the additional recordings ‘Just Dropped in’, ‘Lone Pilgrim’ and ‘When The Deal Goes Down’.

cheap trick to tour with aerosmith
Cheap Trick and Aerosmith hit the road together in U.S.
by SAILEY BAILEY

Just after the announcement that Motely Crue and KISS would unite in a double headed tour of the U.S, Aerosmith have announced that they will be hitting the road with Cheap Trick in support. This won't be a double header.

Steve Tyler in his usual style announced " The old Aerosmith is back with a new vengeance and we will kick your ass and make out with yur mothers,"  Ewwwwwww. Where does Deadmua5 stand on this comentary?  Afterall Steve Tyler is surely too old to be making statements about "making out " with the mother of fans....

Anyhoo, the awesome Cheap Trick will support and what a treat that will be for anyone purchasing tickets at the following address; http://www.rockntickets.com/ResultsGeneral.aspx?stype=0&kwds=Aerosmith
