radiohead confirm fuji rock festival

Radiohead confirmed to headline Japan's Fuji Rock Festival

Radiohead have announced another summer festival headline appearance, this time at Japan's Fuji Rock festival.

The band will headline the event, which takes place in Niigata from July 27–29, along with The Stone Roses.

Radiohead are also confirmed to headline Portugal's Optimus Alive festival, which is set to take place between July 12–15 in Lisbon, and Spain's Bilbao BBK festival, which takes place between July 12–14.

The band also confirmed earlier this week that they would be headlining this summer's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California. They also extended their US tour by a further four dates and added a show at Nanang Exhibition Hall in Taipei, Taiwan on July 25.

Radiohead are expected to confirm UK and more European dates in the coming weeks, but are yet to say when this will be. Guitarist Ed O'Brien has previously hinted that the band will play arena shows in the UK rather than festival dates.

noel gallagher threatens to retire

Noel Gallagher threatens to retire

Noel Gallagher is threating to retire... that is if he has a good year.

"Looking forward to this 2012 business," he wrote in his first Tales From The Middle Of Nowhere missive of 2012. "If this year is half as good as last year then I might actually retire. What would be the point in carrying on?? And in any case, ain't the world supposed to end this year?? Fuck the Mayans, I say!!!"

Gallagher fans it is your duty to stop buying his records.

soundgarden to release new album
Soundgarden to release first album in 16 years in 2012
by SALLY BAILEY

Can it really be 16 years since the last Soundgarden album was released? I am feeling tres ye olde.

The new album which was due to be released in 2011 will finally make an appearance shortly....or not so shortly depending on how long it takes to mix. Fair enough, after 16 years you would want to be perfectly happy with the result. Apparently the band was going to start mixing the album over the Christmas break. Mixing is one of those things that inevitably leads to long nights, disagreements and pain from listening to the product of the recording too many times. Who could say when it will be done. Hopefully before 2012 is.

bruce springsteen new album
Bruce Springsteen's new album to be 'his angriest yet'

Bruce Springsteen is preparing to release his 24th album, said to be his "angriest" yet.

A source, who has heard the whole album, told the Hollywood Reporter: "He gets into economic justice quite a bit. It's very rock'n'roll. He feels it's the angriest album he's ever made."

The insider added 'The Boss' wrote and recorded the majority of the album before the Occupy movements started around the world "so he's not just setting headlines to music."

Produced by Ron Aniello (Patti Scialfa, Jars of Clay), the album is said to venture into unexpected areas and features loops, electronic percussion and influences veering from hip-hop to Irish folk.

While no release date has been confirmed, Springsteen is scheduled to deliver the keynote speech at South By Southwest in Austin, Texas on March 15, fueling speculation that an album may coincide with the appearance.

Springsteen's last album 'The Promise' was released in November 2010, and was a double CD compilation of previously unreleased songs drawing from the 'Darkness On The Edge Of Town' sessions of 1977/8.

Springsteen and The E Street Band, who lost two members in 2011, Danny Federici and Clarence Clemons, have also announced a round of UK tour dates for June and July.

They will play:
June 21: Stadium of Light, Sunderland
June 22: Etihad Stadium, Manchester
June 24: Isle of Wight Festival
July 14: Hard Rock Calling, London
