Also released as a part of John Lennon rematered catalogue, this single-disc is indended to be the new greatest hits compilation for this ledendary musician.
Despite equipped with excellent remastered sounds, this new compilation already fall short from the start - since it has 5 songs less than previous 1998's 'Lennon Legend' album. Not only the great album cuts like "Love" and "Mother" was cut off, the producer also swapped the late charted singles "Nobody Told Me" for the non-charted song "Gimme Some Truth".
Nevertheless, this new album still have a great strength of being a greatest hits compilation since it contains all the true essentials like "Imagine", "Mind Games", "#9 Dream", "Whatever Gets You Thru the Night", "Give Peace a Chance", "Instant Karma", "Cold Turkey", "(Just Like) Starting Over", and "Woman". Although it is a good purchase for any new listeners, it is an unnecessary album for anyone who already owned the previous hits compilation. |
